KA WAIHONA A KE ALOHA is an interactive resource center for the promotion, preservation and perpetuation of mele, and is housed in Kawaihuelani Center for Hawaiian Language at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Since its establishment in 2003, Ka Waihona A Ke Aloha has served over 2,000+ university students and faculty, Hawaiian immersion schools, community members, cultural practitioners, kumu hula, and recording artists, providing information for curriculum development, graduate thesis papers, research projects, hula competition fact sheets, and liner notes for recording projects. We celebrate all the mele practitioners who have been a part of Ka Waihona A Ke Aloha’s journey and we especially honor Dr. Kimo Alama Keaulana for all his contributions over the past 22 years.
